Shining Star is a homeschool community. Our offerings are meant to complement whatever program you are using at home (Waldorf curriculum, unschooling, or otherwise).

We ask that our community has, at the very least, a strong interest in Waldorf education. We are made up of a wide spectrum of families – those just beginning down the path to those who have been studying Waldorf for years. We welcome all.

All Shining Star Co-op Classes will be held Mondays on Redmond Ridge in Redmond, WA. 

Co-op Class 2023-2024

Mondays, 10:30am-1:30pm

Ages 6+ (younger siblings welcome!)

Shining Star offers an all-ages class, one day a week. Class begins at 10:30am and is three hours long.

We begin with a morning circle, a story, and then transition into our festival, handwork, seasonal crafts, or Waldorf grade level activity. After, we have lunch as a community followed by outdoor free play.

We celebrate several festivals in and out of class each year.  Additionally, we participate in multiple field trips each year and we end the year with an optional annual camping trip. 

In order to keep our classes accessible to everyone, we are a parent-led class. Parents are required to volunteer and participate in classes and the community.

We ask that you commit to join for the year but we have three session payments available.

For those involved in our community we have additional community events, some of which include:

• Craft night for adults
• Parent Education
• A private community chat group for support and coordinating meetups outside of co-op
• A beginning of the year gathering at Tolt McDonald park in Carnation with the option to camp for the weekend or just to come by to hang out for the day.
• Occasional field trips to farms, community events, hiking, etc
• Support on selecting homeschooling curriculum

* Co-op Class pricing is for ages 18 months and older.  Under 18 months is no charge with a sibling attending the co-op class but please do make note that you will be bringing them to class.

Class Policies:

Payments are required to reserve your spot in class.  There are no refunds including no refunds for sick days, snow days, events beyond our control, or the decision to not continue with any of our classes.
